Developments

We love unlocking the potential of difficult sites and creating wonderful homes on them. Below is some examples of our development projects for clients such as Solidspace and Kinland along with some smaller one-off house developments.

I have know MWA for many years and they designed a great (award-wining) project for us. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them

Essex Mews

A 3-house development for Solidspace in Crystal Palace. A repurposing of some garages into a new community that was a polite response to the conservation area yet created very contemporary homes internally. The typology has a split section orientated orotund a double height void. The project won several awards including an RIBA award and Evening Standard New Homes award. Full project page here.

We are very proud that this project was also included in the Housing Design Handbook which is a catalogue of exemplar new build house designs.

Bristow Mews

Another 3 house scheme. 2 new builds and 1 refurbished coach house. This project with Kinland is all about craftsmanship. The houses are rich in texture and bold in colour. Full projects page here.

Other Developments

Below is an example pre-app application for 5 houses in Westwood Hill, Crystal Palace. This is the first stage of proposal that explore the principle of development before detailed design is carried out. It is also an opportunity to discuss the proposal with key stakeholders as was the case with this development.

We also have projects for single ‘sunken’ courtyard houses, and also apartment buildings. We like to work with developers that share some or our values and recognise the value that good design can bring. We believe that good design can increase planning gain and increase value resulting in more GIA at a higher rate. simultaneously improving the environment for existing and new residents. We are always happy to discuss development sites and collaboration opportunities using our contact form using the ‘development’ drop down so that it goes to the most appropriate person.
